I often see small business owners make the decision to smash their social media. They go all out and then crash out a few weeks down the line. So how do you keep that momentum up?

I followed the Couch to 5K program through the easier weeks, through the challenges I wrongly thought were too much, and through the weeks that my mind was telling me I wasn’t making any progress. I trusted the program and went from being completely out of breath after 60 seconds to controlling my breathing for a whole 35-40 minutes!
It was a journey that involved going right back to basics and building some foundations before being able to enjoy the benefits. And that’s exactly what we need to do with your social media!
Progress over perfection
Just like with running, there is no end goal with social media marketing. Yes, you can set targets, but there will always be people doing more than you and higher targets to work towards. And that’s OK. That doesn’t make my 5K less ace, and it certainly doesn’t make your social media less important.
One post at a time. One comment at a time. One new lead at a time. You don’t need to do it all today, you don’t need to be everywhere, you just need to focus on what you can achieve.
So what can you do today to move forwards? It doesn’t have to be anything big. It doesn’t have to be something fancy. It doesn’t even have to be something new!
What if you don’t post today? I too sometimes have that naggy voice telling me I have to post today. I know this might sound crazy coming from a social media expert, but what if we just ignored that naggy voice? Keep reading.

Foundations to fall back on
The first couple of months are always the hardest. You’re creating new habits, you’re building those foundations, and you’re learning your limits. It’s hard – but it does get easier!
Right now, you might be feeling like every day you’ve got to start your social media strategy again. But in a few weeks, in a few months, you’re not only going to have those habits in place, you’re going to have a bank of content you can reuse and repurpose, you’re going to have a bank of templates to quickly create content, and you’re feed is going to be full of content you actually want to see. That’s the power of social media consistency!

You don’t have to do this alone
One of the things I loved about Couch to 5K was that sometimes I didn’t believe I could do the runs set out for me and I wouldn’t have attempted it alone. But I trusted the experts, and they were right!
That’s also one of the things that makes my Social Media Resets so powerful. You might believe in yourself, but I believe in you. This is more than an Audit, it’s an opportunity to get step-by-step support, expert feedback on what you’re doing, and a nudge to take the next step.

“What I really love about Tesni is that no question seems too daft to ask her and her advice is practical and easy to follow. She offered bespoke feedback and tips all based on what I wanted to achieve with my social media so it fitted with how I wanted to grow and at my own pace. Totally recommended!” – Tracy Bevan, Positive Being
